Celebrating Women: The Backbone of Sustainable Farming

On behalf of Inchara GreenHands, we proudly celebrated International Women’s Day with 50 inspiring rural women from the Self-Help Groups of CREA Foundation, Tiruchirapalli. To honor their contribution to farming and sustainability, we gifted 50 fruit saplings, encouraging them to plant these in their backyards and become ambassadors of agroforestry plantations.

These women, deeply rooted in agriculture, are transforming banana stem waste into valuable daily-use products using dried banana stem fiber—a skill that not only reduces agricultural waste but also provides them with a sustainable income of ₹5,000–₹8,000 per month through training from CREA Foundation and government support.

On this special occasion, Inchara GreenHands has partnered with CREA Foundation to extend this training and empowerment program to our Inchara Women Farmers in Krishnagiri. Through this initiative, we aim to strengthen the livelihoods of farmer families, enabling them to thrive as a community. Women are the backbone of the farming sector, playing a crucial role in ensuring food security for future generations. By empowering them with agroforestry plantations and value-added training programs, we can create a sustainable future where they not only cultivate the land but also build resilient and thriving rural economies.
Join us in this movement! Contribute to agroforestry plantations and support women farmers in building parallel incomes through sustainable agriculture. Together, let’s Save Soil, Save Farmers, and Secure the Future!
