Diversity & Inclusion Programs

Inchara and Indivillage partners on a Diversity and Inclusion program

Indivillage is a non-profit organization focused on community development in rural India. Its mission is to help children and youth in rural India, lead better lives through continued opportunities, from Education to Employment.

We contributed 10 laptops for Tech Her Forward program. To address the vast gender gap and encourage education in STEM, IndiVillage Foundation started the Tech Her Forward program in 2019. The aim of this program is to inspire, educate, and equip them with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions and be career ready. This is a one-year certification course for girls in 8th and 9th standards. The Tech Her Forward program has three components Coding, Computer Skills and Communication Skills. Young girls aged 13 to 17 years, in government and low-budget private schools in rural India were selected to participate in the program. Through this program, 91.64% of students are able to code basic and Intermediate levels of animation from scratch and 56% of students are able to operate Computers (MS Office Suite).  We are happy with the success of this initiative.

Bridging the gender gap in STEM Education

Inchara and Belakoo Trust worked together to enable deserving girls to realize their dreams to secure a seat in professional STEM courses. This was the first KCET Bootcamp, where 40 female students were selected through a rigorous screening process. Success metrics of the initiative:67% increase YoY in overall student performance who appeared for KCET exam. Over 20% of students have scored a rank in the first 50,000 in KCET.

The recorded classes from this boot camp are intended to provide the scale to make the coaching available to all PU female students from underprivileged backgrounds in Karnataka appearing for CET 2023. We wish all the girls a bright future ahead!
